French Firm Sold Horse Meat As Beef

A French meat company called Spanghero reportedly sold beef, that was actually horse meat. The Government took away the company's license, and arrested three people involved in the fraud. The company claims that it put in an order for beef, and thought that the meat was actually beef. Horse meat is much cheaper and reportedly 750 tons of meat was involved. About thirteen countries and twenty-eight companies are involved.

France bombed Islamist extremist centers near Kidal after the visit of President Hollande. French troops had been working to secure the safety of the town for the visit of the President since January 30. When the President came, he was greeted with enthusiastic cheers from the crowds. It was said that the Islamist terrorists fled to the mountains. France is helping Mali to keep the peace from terrorism.
